Technorati
Technorati is predominately a search engine that works for blogs, which makes it more difficult to other search engines as they may bring back other web page,s music, images, videos and more. Making it alot harder to simply locate a certain blog from all the other things that have some of the similar tags. Also the Technorati searching system has a authority search, where it ranks each blog determining which has the most authority and which is ranked the number 1 blog of the time. This is determined by how interesting you blog actually is, the more people that come to read you blog, the higher your ranking becomes.

FTP- File Transfer Protocol
Just to note some other uses,
-- it promotes the sharing of files (data or computer programs)
-- encourages indirect or implicit use of remote computers
-- shields the user from variations in file storage systems
-- transfers data reliably and efficiently
Some positives that come from using a File Transfer Protocol include being able to access the site from pretty much anywhere. Using the FTP can become risky as a password is always needed before the transfer can begin, and while using an FTP connection it can become unstable and data becomes lost, failing to reach its desired location, allowing for any personal information to be stolen or changed. As often as this may happen these problems can be avoided by using updated programs such as FTPS and SFTP.

Experience gained from MPI104 sem1
Before coming to the MPI104 class i had a very vague idea of how the internet worked, and the potential that it had hidden away. I had a rather distorted idea that the internet was made up by absolute geniuses, who spent hours on end unlocking the mysteries of the world wide web. When in fact i have been studying this subject for about 10 weeks or so and I’m already being to understand how web pages are put together, and how they can be built piece by piece using small pieces of code. It took me awhile to get my head around the face that each single piece of code is unique and stands for a certain reason, and that I just one small piece is missing then huge pieces of the puzzle go missing.
By playing around with a number of different applications, such as flickr, delicious and blogger, has giving me a huge perspective on their different features. With my flickr account i have really enjoyed working out to put photos up and tag and group them. But my favourite part is being able to join heaps of groups such by searching for them. There are so many interesting images of flickr too, you can pretty much search for any image you want and you will find something close to it. Blogger was one of the coolest tools iv used, as iv felt what its like to have a presents on the internet, where i can write whatever i want. The delicious account i had was rather interesting, i got to look out how delicious works and the applications that come with presenting things, out of all three my favourite would have to be a tie between flickr and blogger, and I’m sure i will continue to practise making links and trying to understand the more as i continue at university.
